The initial reason of this website was as a vehicle to remember the men of Laugharne who died in both World Wars. It was based upon the contents of my book- 'A Township in Mourning', 'The Laugharne Roll of Honour for WW1 & WW2'. Please help support the site by buying one of the last 20 copies of the book. Also on a seperate page are details of some new publications. Please have a browse.

The Laugharne Roll of Honour *SALE*

For several years I have researched the men of Laugharne who died in both World Wars, and two years ago decided to take the plunge and publish my research in a book to remember the men of Laugharne who gave their lives in both World War 1 and World War 2. Two hundred copies were printed, in a high quality soft-back A5 sized format, entirely at my own expense, to ensure the perpetual memory of these men. Initial research centred around the names on the new War Memorial, but during research, I found that other men who had either been born in Laugharne, or who had at some stage in their lives lived in Laugharne, were not commemorated on the Memorial. It is for this reason that the book has been published, and I hope that one day, action will be taken to add these names onto the Memorial.

For details of the men remembered in the book, please check out the Laugharne pages of the Carmarthen site.

World War One Replica Memorial Scrolls

I have the facility to print replica Memorial Scrolls for soldiers who died during the Great War, between 1914 and 1918.  These scrolls were issued to the next of kin of the deceased soldier, along with a Bronze Memorial Plaque bearing his name, and the medals that he was entitled to. Many of the fragile scrolls have been lost or destroyed over the years. Scrolls can be printed onto parchment paper similar to the original. Please contact me prior to ordering to make sure that the details of the person that you require on the scroll are available, otherwise I can make on up on plain quality paper to suit. The scrolls will be posted in a reinforced envelope to protect them during posting.

World War Two Replica Memorial Scrolls

I also have the facility to print out Memorial Scrolls for soldier of World War Two who lost their lives during the conflict. The scrolls are of a different design to the WW1 Scrolls, and I can print them out on a quality parchment paper. Please contact me to ensure that the details of the soldier can be printed. If not, it can be made up on quality white paper. As with the WW1 Scrolls, they will be posted in a reinforced envelope, to ensure they do not get damaged in the post, and they make a nice accompaniment to a group of medals missing the scroll, or just to frame with a photograph of the deceased soldier.

Donations towards the running costs of the Site

This site, and its sister site on the Carmartheneshire War Memorials, are entirely self-funded, to commemorate the men of West Wales who died during both wars. Although I am qmore than happy to cover the costs of the site, and the gathering of information and photographs, donations would be more than gratefully received to assist with this work. Therefore this link is to enable donations to the upkeep of the site via Paypal.

As this Shop has no facility for the donor to enter a figure, I have set it to £1.
